Outpatient Therapy

LSS The Good Shepherd in partnership with Blue Sky Therapy offers physical, occupational and speech therapy to the Ashland community. Our trained professionals will evaluate your rehabilitation needs and develop a specialized one-on-one treatment program that will help you make a speedy recovery.

RESTORE – Virtual Rehab

The Rehabilitation Center and Blue Sky Therapy employ this easy-to-use RESTORE virtual rehab platform designed for physical and occupational therapy. It combines rehab movements, virtual games and motion sensing cameras.

RESTORE allows therapists to:

Track progress and accelerate clinical outcomes with fun and engaging activities

Expand skill-building opportunities to activities and restorative nursing

Build community by interacting with peers nationwide

RESTORE allows patients to:

Engage in functional and FUN virtual activities

The Good Shepherd team is committed to ensuring that patients and residents feel at home in our community. Activities are determined by our residents’ interests and are designed to encourage socialization and engagement. A full calendar of events and outings is planned for every month.

Along with a very busy activity schedule, residents of LSS The Good Shepherd take part in a full range of community events including trips to the Ashland County Fair and summer concerts at the Ashland bandshell. Our residents are out and about in the community more than ever before. Look for the TGS bus at an event near you.

Memory Care at The Good Shepherd

LSS The Good Shepherd is proud to be Ashland County’s premier provider of specialized care to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Our unique Windsor Abbey Memory Care Program provides creative, optimistic and dignified care to residents who are experiencing memory challenges. Our individualized approach incorporates family members and residents in a partnership of caregiving. We work hard to create a safe environment that affords residents the opportunity to not only feel at home but thrive in a safe unit with a secured outdoor courtyard.

Our specially trained memory care staff provide Alzheimer’s and dementia care services in a dignified and caring manner. The Good Shepherd’s memory care team have received Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) training and certifications. We offer patients innovative therapy tools including the award-winning Tovertafel “magic table” that uses interactive games scientifically proven to stimulate physical activity, social interaction and cognition. The memory care team members are especially well prepared to care for those with memory impairments.

Rehabilitation at LSS The Good Shepherd

Many individuals recovering from orthopedic, cardiac, neurological conditions and surgical procedures require rehabilitation to get back to activities of daily living and functional independence. Our rehab in-patient care community offers compassionate and personalized therapy to promote a successful recovery and return home.

While in our care at The Good Shepherd, our in-house therapy team is available to work with patients every day to ensure a rapid and well-rounded recovery. Our facility has a spacious and advanced rehabilitation gym with all the necessary equipment to ensure therapy progression. There is an additional space next to the gym that emulates a home-like atmosphere to help best prepare you for your return home.

Individualized Care Plan

Our rehabilitation team will work with you and your family to develop and coordinate your individualized care plan. We will also provide periodic updates throughout your stay as to your progress and discharge plans. Prior to your discharge, we will coordinate home care, order needed equipment, process your medication orders and schedule a follow-up appointment with your primary care physician. Your rehabilitation team will coordinate all services to help you reach your optimal discharge goals.
