Ventilator Care
LSS The Good Shepherd Ventilator Unit and Pulmonary Care is a state-of-the-art facility that provides innovative and high-tech care to patients experiencing acute and chronic respiratory disorders and is the only one of its kind in Ashland, Wayne and Richland counties.
Our in-house respiratory therapists, registered nurses and care team provide care 24/7 to treat and manage symptoms and make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Helen's Story
Helen came to LSS The Good Shepherd follow a long hospitalization with a tracheostomy tube and on a ventilator due to COPD and pneumonia. After not having walked in two months, she was experiencing muscle atrophy and weakness, and she wasn’t sure what the future would hold after the hospital had told her she would be on a vent long term. Through the help of our caring, skilled staff and Helen’s determination, she left TGS only 28 days later, free of the vent and trach and walking on her own.
